44: Carrie Underwood: The More Boys I MeetĬontinuing the same line of thought, this tune outlines the many reasons why Carrie Underwood finds the guys she meets to be inferior to her beloved pet, and less messy as well. She’s too clever to come out and say the song’s about a dog, but drops enough hints, including the bark at the end. In this Norah Jones’ song, the dog is preferable to the guy in every way: He’s neither a vegan nor a pothead he never lies or cheats, and he doesn’t want to take a shower with her. ![]() Times have sure changed since Big Mama Thornton put a guy down by calling him a hound dog. This list stretches across eras and genres, showing the many different dogs who’ve been saluted in song. Dogs in hit songs have been bad and funky, they’ve been fine and noble, they’ve even gotten yelled at for acting up. ![]() We’ve highlighted the best songs about dogs to mark the occasion. But either way, he's gone, and so is this listener.Popular music is rife with songs inspired by romantic partnerships, but one of mankind’s greatest muses is our four-legged friends. Maybe Arnie deserved to lose his job-a lot happened that we may never know. Have not heard a single minute of the show since, and haven't wanted to. Then Arnie got fired, killing that segment, so I quit listening altogether. In 2015, I'd decided to only listen to BNOHM. I liked Amanda for being so nice to me on the phone once, but on the air, let's face it.she's no Cristi. Plus the show dipped in quality when Cristi left. I just couldn't take any more Stupid Store/SuperStore, or woot-wooting at all the items for sale. Toward the end of 2014 Rob promoted the store. Plus the SuperStore correcting schtick, which I know wasn't her fault, but still annoying. It was a combination of how badly she'd let herself go physically, the CONSTANT woot-wooting, and the bandwagon fandom. I'd used to listen religiously, but Dawn drove me away. I'd given up on RAD (except Bad News Over Happy Music) about two months before Arnie left. He didn't say who it was, but was pretty disgusted by it and said he no longer talks to that person. As to what happened, Rob has said he had a friend who put a therapy dog vest on his dog so that his dog would be allowed to go places even though the friend didn't have his dog trained as a therapy dog. I've always loved Brandon's input, but Amanda usually makes me want to shove skewers into my ears when she slurs her stories.ītw, there was burping when Arnie was there as well and most of them were Rob. It's still the best thing on the radio in the morning, but I do prefer the old days. It is just as negative as it ever was (Rob was just as negative/mean as Arnie in the old days), they just changed people and Dawn is maybe a touch less b*tchy now. When people write in saying the "new direction" of the show is SO amazing, I want to vomit. When the show is on vacation now or it's the weekend, I download the shows from past years when Arnie was on and laugh more than I ever do at the show the way it is now. Pretty classless and shady if you ask me. I hate that Arnie is gone and that they still badmouth Tennessee and the name Emily, but don't say why like he was never there. It appears one of the guys on that show really hates Rob and tried to get into it with Arnie for bringing it up. It was one of those random unplanned bits (or segments, wienerface?) and I'm glad I caught it. He said he had to give credit where credit is due, and Rob was one of the ones that helped him get where he is today. He didn't go into too much detail but you could tell he just had to be honest about it and shoutout Rob. You could tell it was somewhat emotional for Arnie. Rob eventually gave him his first real radio gig as an intern and it went from there. He talked about how they first met, drunk at some Reno bar and how Rob invited him to stop by the station the next monday. I don't know all the details about how they are now but I assumed there was too much bad blood between them. But I just kept thinking, there's no way Arnie would mention Rob Williams. The Dog Pound was doing some cheesy segment on "People who have inspired you" and they took turns mentioning the important people that helped them get to where they are today.Īs a long time fans of Rob, Arnie and Dawn know, Rob has had a huge impact on Arnie's life. It's always such a throwback to hear his voice. ![]() Stopped to listen and surprisingly heard Arnie's familiar voice come on afterwards. I barely listen to 98 Rock but I was scanning though stations on my long ass drive home -about 5:30pm - and an old Gorillaz song came on.
